on Signs on BusesI was staring at one of those signs on buses (singapore), you know...the one that iconised giving up seat to the elderly, pregnant woman and those with children (note that disabled is not included).
I have always thought that the icon showed an elderly, a disabled sitting (without legs) and someone carrying something...
Today, I was staring at the sign when I just realised, the icon showed an elderly standing, and a woman sitting with a child on her knees (the something turned out to be the shoes the child is wearing).
Overall, the whole icon seems a bit wrong. Afterall, does this mean that woman with children are to be given seats before elderly? What happened to the disabled?
